As Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center works to meet the needs of patients in area hospitals, more individuals are encouraged to Commit for Life and donate blood this summer. Those with blood types O-negative, A-negative and B-negative are especially needed at this time.

Summer always is a challenging time for donations, as many individuals go on vacation or become busy with summer activities, and don’t always make time to donate. However, the need for more than 1,000 donations every day in the Texas Gulf Coast region is constant. That’s why it is important that individuals Commit for Life and donate at least once per quarter so an adequate supply can be available at all times.

Blood donations help many individuals, including surgery patients, cancer patients, individuals with anemia, premature babies and more. Every donation can help save as many as three lives.

The Blood Center has 17 Neighborhood Donor Centers and conducts mobile blood drives daily throughout the Texas Gulf Coast region. Find a location where you may donate.
