Congratulations to Family Vacation Month winners!

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center would like to thank all of those who have helped save lives by donating during Family Vacation Month!

All those who donated or attempted to donate from May 1 through 28 were automatically entered to win a family four-pack of tickets to one of five select family attractions. One winner was randomly selected each week and given the opportunity to choose which attraction his or her family would like to visit.

Congratulations to the following:

Week 1.

Stephen Mewborn of Kemah, donates with Clear Creek Community Church in League City. He said he donated for many years when he lived in another state and saw his church’s blood drives as an opportunity to once again begin saving lives. He will use his tickets to visit SeaWorld in San Antonio with his wife, 2-year-old daughter, mother-in-law and sister-in-law.

Week 2.

Coco Gonzales, of Crystal Beach, is a donor at High Island High School, where she just completed her junior year. She is only 17, but she joined the Commit for Life program to help save lives on an ongoing basis in the future. Gonzales personally understands the importance of blood donations, as she also is a recipient. She chose Schlitterbahn in Galveston as her vacation destination and will share the passes with a group of friends.

Week 3.

Jana Needham of Cypress helps save lives by donating at Adam Elementary School in the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District, where she is an assistant principal. She is a Commit for Life donor and says that winning this giveaway is just one more great benefit for continuing her commitment. Needham, her husband and their two children, ages 9 and 11, will visit Schlitterbahn in Galveston.

Week 4.

David Pitts of Needville won the Family Vacation Month giveaway after donating at one of the W.A. Parish Plant's two blood drives in May. Pitts has been helping save lives for about 15 years, since he began working at the plant. He chose to receive passes to visit SeaWorld in San Antonio with his wife and two youngest daughters, ages 6 and 18, this summer.
