![]() |
The 15th Annual National Day of Prayer Breakfast is held every first Thursday of May to honor all the religion-based groups that help save lives by hosting blood drives throughout the year.
This year’s event, held May 4, 2006, at The Houston Club, welcomed more than 120 guests and was emceed by Sherry Williams of Houston’s WB. Offering inspiration in the form of prayer were Pastor Lynne Settlemyre, of First United Methodist Church – Missouri City; Father Anthony Bozeman, of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church; Rabbi Ranon Teller, of Congregation Brith Shalom; Pastor Sammy Lopez, of Fellowship Church of Houston; Deacon Tresha King, of Community of Christ Church; and Cynthia Paige, of CRM City Fellowship Church.
Special thanks also to Nadine Hypolite, a Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center employee, for her inspirational musical performances; the Jefferson Davis High School JROTC, for performing the presentation of colors; Amy Lauro, for serving as pianist for the morning; Albert McGinty, a longtime blood donor, for saying the invocation; and Ashley Stanley, a student at the High School for Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, for offering a lovely rendition of the national anthem.
