1. GIVEAWAY DETAILS.  Those who donate or attempt to donatein April or May 2008 have a chance to win a piece of diamond jewelry in the Diamonds for Donors giveaway! Those who donate or attempt to donate will receive a scratch-off ticket that could make them the winner of a fantastic prize – including points to use in the Commit for Life store, items from the Commit for Life store or a beautiful piece of diamond jewelry.
   
   
2. ENTRY.  No purchase necessary.  Entry can be made by becoming a Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center Commit for Life member and donating or attempting to donate at any Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center blood drive or Neighborhood Donor Center between April 1 and May 31 of 2008 (the "Giveaway Period"). Each donation or attempted donation will entitle the donor to one scratch-off card. 
   
   
3. ELIGIBILITY. The giveaway is open to legal residents, 17 years or older, of the State of Texas.  To be eligible entrants must be donate or attempt to donate with Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center during the Giveaway Period.  Employees and immediate family members of Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center ("Sponsor") are not eligible to win the Commit for Life store items or diamond jewelry; however, may redeem Commit for Life store points as part of the promotion.
   
   
4. PRIZE. Individuals who participate in the Diamonds for Donors giveaway have the opportunity to win one of three potential prizes. Scratch-off tickets include one of these three potential prizes: 200 bonus points in the Commit for Life store; one (1) of twelve (12) Commit for Life store watches retail valued at US $100 each; or grand prize of a diamond piece of jewelry retail valued at approximately US $500.
   
   
5. TAXES AND EXPENSES.  The winner is required to pay federal income tax on the value of the prize, which is listed above in section 3, in your tax bracket. In addition, the winner is required to cooperate with Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center in providing information to prepare any additional regulatory filings, including, but not limited to, IRS Form 1099. In the event that the winner is unable or declines to pay the federal income tax, the winner shall be disqualified, and a new winner will be selected randomly from the remaining entrants.  The winner of that drawing will have seven (7) days upon notification of winning to meet the requirements set forth herein.  If that winner is unable to meet such requirements, additional winners will be drawn in seven-day intervals, from the remaining entrants, until such time as the winner is able to meet the requirements set forth herein.  Jewelry insurance is not included in the prize and is winner’s responsibility, if desired.   Winner will solely be responsible for any customs duties (where applicable), and any other costs and expenses associated with accepting and using the prize.  Prize cannot be sold and/or traded for cash as required by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
   
   
6. RANDOM DRAWING.  Winners will be randomly selected through random scratch-off tickets given to the Commit for Life donor prior to the donor screening questions and after the hemoglobin (iron-level) test. Scratch-off tickets contain prizes ranging from Commit for Life store bonus points to watches and diamond jewelry.  Should an individual not claim the watches and/or the diamond jewelry by June 15, the Sponsor will utilize the Web site www.graphpad.com/quickcalcs/randomN1.cfm to help select the winners from Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center donors who donated or attempted to donate in the months of April and May.  Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible donations received. Further details about random scratch-off tickets can be provided upon request.
   
   
7. PRIZE AWARD. Every scratch-off ticket is a winning ticket.  Approximately 59,987 scratch-off tickets contain the 200 Commit for Life store points; 12 contain the watches; and one (1) scratch-off ticket contains the grand prize diamond jewelry.  If an individual is the winner of 200 bonus points to use in Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center’s Commit for Life store, these points will appear on Digital Donor, at www.giveblood.org, within 48 hours of the donation. If an individual is the winner of the watches or diamond jewelry, prizes may be redeemed by calling The Blood Center’s Diamonds for Donors hotline at (713) 791-7735 no later than June 15. Prizes not claimed by this date are subject to forfeiture.  If prize is forfeited, a winner will then be randomly selected from Commit for Life members who donated or attempted to donate during the months of April or May.  Prize redemption information also is included on the back of each scratch-off card.
   
   Individuals who win either the his-and-hers watches or the diamond jewelry will be required to complete, sign and return within seven (7) days an Affidavit or Declaration of Eligibility, a Liability Release and, except where prohibited by law, a Publicity Release. Failure to timely return required documents or if prize notification is returned as undeliverable may cause prize to be forfeited and awarded to an alternate.  Each finalist will be required to provide such evidence of eligibility as may be required by Sponsor and a valid Texas driver’s license.  Subject to meeting the requirements set forth in these Official Rules, winner must call The Blood Center at (713) 791-7735 no later than June 15 or prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate.
   
   
8. GENERAL.  By participating, entrants agree (a) to the Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor and its agents in all matters relating to the giveaway, which decisions shall be final in all respects; (b) to release and to hold harmless Sponsor, and its subsidiary and affiliated companies and their respective directors, officers and employees from any and all liability, damages, injuries and claims arising in whole or in part from their participation and the acceptance and use of the prize; and (c) that the foregoing parties have neither made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation or guaranty, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the prize including but not limited to its quality, condition or fitness for use.
   
   
9. DISCLAIMER.  Sponsor and its agents are not responsible for error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone, computer, hardware or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of, or failure of Sponsor to receive entry information on account of technical or any combination thereof. If the giveaway becomes technically corrupted or compromised due to any of the foregoing or other factors or non-authorized human intervention, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to (a) terminate the giveaway; (b) terminate any method of entry; and/or (c) select the winner from among all eligible entries received prior to the termination. Notice of any termination will be posted on www.giveblood.org.
   
   
10. WINNER. For name of winner, available after July 15, 2008, mail a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, attention Diamonds for Donors giveaway, 1400 La Concha Lane, Houston, Texas, 77054. Name of winner also will be posted on www.giveblood.org.
